After the above requirements have been met, you will be scheduled to take the NJATC aptitude test. This test consists of algebra and reading comprehension questions, which will take approximately two and a half hours to complete. Within two to four weeks after, the JATC should receive the test results and will notify you of them.
If you obtain a qualifying score on the aptitude test, you will be scheduled for an oral interview by the Apprenticeship Committee. Based on your interview and review of your qualifications, you will receive an overall ranking score and your name will be placed accordingly on an eligibility list for two years. When positions become available for the apprenticeship program, names will be taken off the respective eligibility list in order of the ranking score.
